Big Oil

In a world that is running out of oil, four young leaders are forced to make crucial decisions that will impact the future of our civilization.

Jill McCarthy is determined to save the world from self-destruction. This year, her NGO Earth Under Fire is targeting the Athabasca Tar Sands – and 20 trillion dollars worth of the world’s dirtiest oil. But she faces a crisis of faith when her father dies, leaving her at the helm of McCarthy Oil, a billion dollar oil empire.

Chief Ed Walkingbear has managed to unify all the chiefs of the Athabasca region to put a stop to the obliteration of their lands. But on the verge of victory at the World Court in the Hague, he’s blindsided by his 96-year-old Grandmother, who resorts to an act of terrorism.

Bahman Khatami, gifted British petro-lawyer, is forced to make an unholy alliance with his birth father, a moderate cleric and Iran’s minister of energy, who seeks to make Iran a superpower.

Xiao Xiaoping, CEO of the Chinese National Oil company. When she turns her back on Iran in favour of assured supply from McCarthy Oil’s assets in Canada, Xiao’s father is executed for treason, and she takes the empty seat on the Politburo.
